The less important part: I haven’t sent out an email update for a while because I have been “laying low” BARR-wise. I was about do a tour this fall, but the fact has become very clear (especially if you were at the Portland TBA show a few weeks ago…) that the BARR band is in a transitional mode. I am writing songs for a about five singles and eps that will come out in the spring (we are headed back into an era of the singles, you know) and probably won’t be playing any live BARR shows until January. That said, Car Clutch (Ethan Swan and I) are playing a lot of shows this fall, and a new thing that I’m going to do called disaster (the first song will explain/qualify the name), will be playing as well. So there are shows. Also, and this next part is…

THE IMPORTANT PART: I am living in New York right now, and doing kind of a lot of events here. I have been conflicted about sending out emails to the BARR list, just because I don’t want people not-in New York to be getting a million emails about things here that don’t relate to them… but I want to send out emails to everyone (here) that do want to know. …So I’m going to start a second list, just for NY stuff. So, here’s how it will work: IF YOU LIVE IN NY, PLEASE EMAIL ME barr@barrbarr.com AND GIVE ME YOUR EMAIL SO I CAN ADD YOU TO THAT LIST.

And I apologize to anyone that was irritated earlier by seemingly non-barr related NY newsflashes earlier in the summer… just like the one below…
